From Roanoke, Virginia, this just might be one of the hardest working Indie bands that you never heard of, but should: Eternal Summers. The trio of Nicole Yun, Jonathan Woods, and Daniel Cundiff have released three full-length records, all on the Kanine label (“Silver,” in 2010, “Correct Behavior,” in 2012, and “The Drop Beneath,” in 2014, their latest), and one EP, the eponymous “Eternal Summers,” in 2011. They’re touring in support of their latest release, and opening for Maximo Park. On wax, they have a sweet sound, sophisticated and intelligent, muscular and hooky. Live, they burn through their set with a sound some call “dream punk,” driven by the storm of drums played by Cundiff. This is a band poised for launch into a wider fan space.
