An In-Store With Mount Eerie

It’s official. Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie, The Microphones) will be playing an in-store show at The Business in Anacortes on Wednesday evening, 10 April. I’ve just received permission to photograph and write up the event. Phil has been and remains an influential force in Indie music. Most of his tours take him outiside of the Pacific Northwest. One of his most recent tours was in Japan. So a chance to hear him in his home town, in one of the coolest record shops in Washington State is spinning my little brain into overdrive. Naturally, you will see it all here, in my humble blog. Music is good. Live music is gooder.

Out and about, I caught this quick photograph of Phil Elverum, the wizard behind The Microphones and Mount Eerie, two influential bands out of the Pacific Northwest. There’s a big rush on for Phil’s record label (P.W. Elverum & Sun) reissuing all his recordings on vinyl. Be sure to check out “Wind’s Poem” (2009) and “The Glow Pt. 2” (2001). They usually sell out very quickly. If you’re looking for any to fill in the holes in your collection, drop an email to The Business. They can probably hook you up with what you’re needing.
